The 5th RoMig International Conference: Puzzling Realities of the Romanian Migration within the Current Global Contexts

In 31 October – 1 November 2025, the 5th international conference of the Romanian Network for Migration Studies will take place in Sibiu, hosted by the “Lucian Blaga” University, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, who is also the main organizer of the event, together with ICCV, “Lucian Blaga” University Library and RoMig.

The conference is dedicated to exploring the transformations brought by migration within societies, and the challenges that come along with them. The following topics are suggested:

  • Migration, ethnicity and identity; 
  • Migration and development nexus; 
  • Migration, employment and labour markets; 
  • Seasonal migration; 
  • Educational migration; 
  • Diasporas and remittances; 
  • Migration, transnationalism and social change; 
  • The mobility transition pattern; 
  • Refugee and asylum migration; 
  • Migration policies: evolution and effectiveness 
  • Data sources and their uses in the study of migration 

Those interested in participating should submit abstracts of up to 300 words via email at conference.romig@gmail.com, until August 31.
